Making a Non Authenticated File Deposit
A Non Authenticated deposit allows people without a Central ID to deposit files.
Files remain in the system for 3 days. This method requires a valid e-mail
address.
Click on the Deposit File (Non Authenticated) link, then do the following:
- Select the file you want to deposit by entering the full pathname of the file. Use the
Browse button to navigate to the file in order to find the
complete path.
- Enter an email address. The email address you supply will receive a notice with the
confirmation number and password needed to retrieve this file. (See
Retrieving a File, below.)
- Click the Submit button.
- Remember, the file stays in Filebank for just 3 days.
Making an Authenticated File Deposit
An authenticated deposit requires a Central Michigan University ID.
Authenticated deposits can remain in the bank for 14 days. Central
Michigan University mail users should use this option when depositing
a file.
Click on the "Deposit File (Authenticated)" link, then do the following:
- Enter your Global ID and Password.
- Click the Submit button.
- Enter the full pathname of the file you are depositing. Use the
Browse button to navigate to the file in order to find the
complete path.
- Enter an email address. The email address you supply will receive a notice with the
confirmation number and password needed to retrieve this file. (See
Retrieving a File, below.)
- Click the Submit button.
- Remember, the file stays
in Filebank for 14 days.
Retrieving a File
To retrieve a file from Filebank, click the "Retrieve File"
button,
then do the following:
- Enter the Filebank confirmation number and password provided in the email sent to
you by the file's depositor.
- Click the Submit button.
- In the popup window that appears, indicate where to place the
file on your local machine.
