* Premium Channels
To receive HBO, Cinemax, The Movie Channel (TMC), and Showtime, you
must subscribe in person at the Help Desk, Park Library 101. Only one resident within the
room/apartment will be billed.
It is the responsibility of that person to
pay the fees for the requested premium channel(s). Once you place an
order, a technician will install your service as soon as possible. You
will be billed from the date of installation until the date you terminate
service. If you have premium services, you must report moves and
disconnects to IT or you will continue to be billed. Billing statements will be generated by IT and sent out once a
month around the 20th. Once you terminate service, a final bill will be
sent. Charges should be paid at Receivable Accounting, WA 122, upon
receipt of the bill.
Installation, Repair, and Service
Information Technology provides a network of many channels
to every residence hall room and apartment. Basic service for cable TV is
included with your housing.
When hooking up your television and/or VCR to the cable TV system, make sure you
have all the necessary cables and equipment. Jumper cables, splitters, FM
kits, adapters, and converter boxes are available at the Telecommunications
office,
Lower Level Woldt Hall.
If you do not have a cable-ready television and
wish to receive channels greater than number 13, you must have a
converter. Converters may be purchased at Telecommunications and at
several Mt. Pleasant stores.
Once you have hooked cables to their
proper input and output jacks, check the connections to insure that they
are not loose or jammed. If you experience noise or other problems, check
the inside of your Cable TV Guide Card (available at the Help Desk) for
schematics and instructions. If the problem persists, contact the Help
Desk at 774-3662.

Before calling for service please be sure to check the common service problems listed
above. If you are experiencing a cable TV system problem, chances are your
neighbor will be having the same trouble. Please wait a reasonable amount
of time before calling in the problem. Someone else might have already
reported the problem, and a technician may already be working on it.
