Computing and
network resources are available for correspondence and publication by
faculty, staff, and students and for communications in support of recognized
Central Michigan University
student organizations.
Campus resources for communicating with technology include:
Your Global ID and Password(s)
Your CMU Global ID gives you access to campus electronic resources.
Access to the network is available in campus public computer labs,
college/department labs, residence halls and apartments, Park Library, and
off campus via dial-up or wireless.

Your CMU email address is how you receive class and other official
University information. Everyone is responsible for checking their campus

MyCmich - CMU Portal
The CMU Portal is a convenient way to access services such as Registration,
Blackboard, email, important notifications, and personal web space.

Web Site/Page Hosting
IT provides server space for Web sites for departments and colleges, and Registered
Student Organizations (RSOs). Personal sites are now available through the Portal -
'MySite' allows any user with a global id to have personal web site and
personal document storage space. more
LISTSERV Lists
CMU departments, registered student organizations (RSO's), faculty, and students
can use electronic mailing lists to reach groups of people.

Adaptive Technologies and
Accommodations
The Adaptive Technology
Room, located in Park Library, room 119, is
accessible during normal building hours. Also, there are more than 20
other locations throughout campus where specialized
computers are available.
Features of the AT room include:
- Screen readers
- Text scanners
- Closed circuit television
- Alternative input devices
- Voice recognition systems
