IT Telecommunications
offers standard basic cable service as well as premium channels for every residence hall
room and campus apartment. We also install, repair, and service the cable
TV system at CMU.
Public Viewing
All residence halls have television viewing areas, many with a wide-screen
televisions. There are also two wide-screen televisions in the Bovee University Center,
one in the foyer and one in the Commuter Room.
Cable and Premium Channels
For a current list of the basic and premium channels available on campus see the
Quick Guide: Cable TV Channels and Troubleshooting. Students who desire a premium service need to fill in a service
request form at the IT Help Desk, Park Library 101. Premium services will be available within three (3)
working days after your request.
Installation, Repair, and Service
Basic service for cable TV is included with housing. Before calling for service,
please be sure to check all potential problems in the
Quick Guide: Cable TV Channels and Troubleshooting.
Moore Hall Television and FM Stereo
In conjunction with the Broadcast and Cinematic Arts Department, cable
TV provides Moore Hall Television, channel 34, to the campus community. Several FM stations are also
transmitted through cable TV, allowing you to receive FM stereo for certain
television channels and better reception for local FM stations:

92.5 Video Hits-One (VH-1)

89.5 CMU Public Radio (WCMU)

91.5 Rock FM (WMHW-Student Radio)
To receive these signals, you need an FM Stereo Kit. You can purchase
kits at
the Help Desk, Park Library, room 101, or at several Mt. Pleasant stores.
